1: Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Program
1.1 For SSC & HSC Student:
- Minimum GPA of 2.50 separately in SSC and HSC[cite: 2].
- If GPA 2.50 is not achieved in either, the combined GPA must be at least 6.00[cite: 2].
- GPA below 2.00 in any examination is not acceptable[cite: 2].
- Minimum combined GPA: 5.00 (Freedom Fighter Quota)[cite: 2].
1.2 For Diploma Holder Student:
- 4-year Diploma in Engineering from BTEB or equivalent eligible for B.Sc. Engineering and other Bachelor programs[cite: 2].
- Evening B.Sc. Programs are open only to 4-year Diploma holders[cite: 2].
1.3 For ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level Student:
- Minimum 5 subjects in O Level and 2 subjects in A Level[cite: 2].
- At least 4 B grades in O Level and 3 C grades in A Level[cite: 2].
- Grade conversion: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2[cite: 2].
1.4 Entry requirement for Engineering and Science Program:
- Only Science background students are eligible[cite: 2].
- Mathematics is mandatory for Engineering and Mathematics programs[cite: 2].
1.5 Foreign Students’ Admission Requirements:
- Verified academic documents from the institution or Foreign Ministry[cite: 2].
- Equivalence Certificate from the Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board, Dhaka[cite: 2].
1.6 GED guideline for admission:
GED Diploma holders are not eligible for admission, as per UGC regulations[cite: 2].
1.7 Specific Admission Requirements for B. Pharmacy
- Combined CGPA of SSC + HSC: Minimum 8.00[cite: 2].
- Minimum CGPA of 4.00 separately in SSC and HSC[cite: 2].
- Passed HSC/A level in current year or within 3 years of result[cite: 2].
- Must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics in HSC[cite: 2].
- Chemistry & Biology: Minimum GPA 3.50 each[cite: 2].
- Physics & Mathematics: Minimum GPA 3.00 each in HSC/ minimum ‘c’ grade in A level[cite: 2].
- Math prerequisite: GPA < 3.00 in Math requires a 3-credit course[cite: 2].
2: Admission Requirements for Post Graduate Program
2.1 For Master’s Programs (General)
- Minimum CGPA of 2.00 (or 40% marks) out of 4.00 in Honors/Degree[cite: 2].
- Must meet minimum CGPA requirements at SSC and HSC levels[cite: 2].
2.2 For MBA & MA in English
Applicants holding a 3-year or 4-year Honors/Degree are eligible[cite: 2].
2.3 For Executive MBA (EMBA):
Minimum of two (02) years of job experience after completing Honors/Degree[cite: 2].
2.4 For LL.M Program:
- Only candidates with an LL.B Honors (4 Years) degree are eligible[cite: 2].
- LL.B (Pass Course) from National University are not eligible as per UGC[cite: 2].
- Job experience must be supported by a valid certificate[cite: 2].
2.5 Special entry requirements (BU Staff):
- Prior permission from Registrar and VC[cite: 2].

2.6 Entry requirements for BU Graduates:

5: Other Policy
5.1 Study Gap Policy (Undergraduate Admission)
- Diploma Holders: Up to 7 years gap acceptable[cite: 2]. 10 years or more not allowed[cite: 2].
- HSC Candidates: Up to 5 years gap acceptable[cite: 2]. 8 years or more not allowed[cite: 2].
- More than 5 years gap from HSC requires regular tuition fees payment throughout the program[cite: 2].
5.2 Readmission Policy:
Absence for 1 year (3 trimesters or 2 semesters) requires readmission with VC/Registrar approval and payment of fee[cite: 2].
5.4 Credit Transfer Policy:
