It is with immense enthusiasm and pride that the Department of Pharmacy, Bangladesh University, welcomes the newly enrolled 47th Batch of students through a lively and motivational Fresher’s Orientation Program on January 26, 2026.

The program aimed to familiarize the freshers with the academic setting, outcome-based curriculum, scope & opportunities of the pharmacy profession. In the beginning, Fatema Akhter, Lecturer & Convener of the program gave the “Welcome Speech” to the new students. Sumiya Seddika Jerin, a student of 46th Batch shared her thoughts & experiences in Bangladesh University, and also welcomed the new students. Fahmida Binte Anwar, Lecturer & the Program Coordinator of the B. Pharm. program meticulously discussed & explained the course curriculum and administrative rules to the newly admitted students. Professor Dr. S. M. Abdur Rahman, Advisor of the Department of Pharmacy talked about the scopes & opportunities of the Pharmacy profession. Professor Abul Kalam Azad, Head of the Department of Pharmacy introduced the faculty members & presented the departmental activities in 2025 to the freshers followed by reciting the Oath of Pharmacists by the new students. All the new students were given flowers and gifts and received by the head of the department along with the advisors, faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy and also by the HoD of BBA program Professor Dr. Mozakkerul Huda who was the invited guest faculty to the orientation program.

The presence of the 47th Batch, filled with energy, curiosity, and dreams was so inspiring. We hope this new generation of students will maintain the honor of the profession and make their mark in the healthcare and social sectors.
